Karn, Me and D.J. DePree

As most follow and look to Sam Maloof, James Krenov, or Nakashima for their readings and inspiration, I look to the ground breaking furniture manufacturer, DJ DePree who lives on through the firm he created; Herman Miller.

I'm very excited to present this interview with Karn Adams a Retail Development Specialist at Herman Miller and hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I did.

D.J. DePree is our greatest furniture manufacturer.

Enjoy the history and answers that Karn so wonderfully provides.

Glad to hear that you got to hang out with your idol's living legacy. Although I really think you could have shown a little more excitement while talking to Karn. ;-)

You did warn her about your passion for DJ before interviewing her, right?

Neil -

Great interview. Thank you so much for sharing this history and your passion. I almost felt like I was there sitting next to Karn - your excitement is very captivating.

Hello,
Just found your site via The Wood Wisperer. I am constantly looking for a woodworking websites that have some content on mid-century, modern or scandanavian furniture and their design. I have found hundreds of great woodworking sites... but hardly any with a focus on this period/style.
This interview was spectacular! I wish it was longer! Very interesting to hear a little about that exciting time in furniture history! Thank you very much. I look forward to exploring your site!!!
