Building the Ash Lingerie Cabinet - Episode 2

In the second webisode, we create a visual with a dry clamped mock-up of all machined parts to date.

Starting with the clean-up of the edge-banding, we then machine the end panels, bottom, mortices, rail tenons, and dry assemble complete with legs, our Contemporary Lingerie Cabinet.

The piece begins to take shape!!!

Neil - You made my day! I have been anxiously awaiting the next installment on the Ash Lingerie Cabinet. Well, I have to say I am hooked - very nice starting with the cabinet scraper! I also very much enjoyed the history and inspiration with DJ Dupree. Your passion and teaching skills are as impressive as your video work and editing! I am looking forward to furthering my woodworking skills by watching your video podcasts. What an exciting time in history to be able to reach out and share skills via the Internet and podcasts. I am fascinated with the potential of this media. Again, thanks for a wonderful site!

Neil - Forgot to mention size XL. Just a quick question. Why do you not have a link to the blog on your home page http://furnitology.com ? Perhaps it is there and I missed it. I will be looking for your video Furnitology 101 at my local Rockler. If not in stock, will make a direct order. Again, I enjoy your blog, website, woodworking and your style! Keep up the great work.

NEIL, THANK YOU FOR ADRESSING MY CONCERNS. SORRY THAT THEY WERE PROBABLY DUE TO MY INEXPERIENCE, BUT I WAS JUST NOT SEEING IT. EPISODE 2 PUT IT ALL TOGETHER FOR ME. SEEING THE MOCK UP MADE THE LITE BULB GO OFF IN THE OLD NOGGIN. THANK FOR PUTTING IT IN "LAMENS" TERMS FOR THIS OLD BLOCK HEAD. YOUR SITE IS GREAT AND I'M TRYING TO MAKE THIS CABINET ALONG WITH YOU. THIS IS MY FIRST WOOD WORKING PROJECT AND IT WON'T LOOK AS NICE AS YOURS BUT FOR A SHADE TREE WOODWORKER I AM GIVING IT A SHOT. I WILL WORK ON WHAT YOU SHOWED IN EPISODE 2 AND HOPE I AM FAR ENOUGH ALONG SO I AM READY FOR EP. 3. THANKS, AND WATCH YOUR TOP KNOT.

ED -

If you get a chance, get Neil's DVD "Furnitology 101". This will be very helpful. I just purchased it today from my local Rockler store, although you can get it directly from Neil from his website http://furnitology.com/ . I just finished watching it for the second time. There are a number of great tips for those of us that work in small shops.

I also am looking forward to the next episode!
